General Study Abroad Checklist
- Attend an Information Session – Or watch the video on our website (wichita.edu/studyabroad) and submit an interest form.
- Study Abroad Appointment – Meet with the study abroad advisor to help select the right program for your interests and discuss that program’s eligibility requirements.
- Academic Advisor Appointment – Meet with your academic advisor to determine which classes you might take abroad.
- Check Deadlines for Your Program – Deadlines to apply to study abroad vary.

- Apply to Study Abroad – Complete WSU Study Abroad Application Form & pay the $30 application fee. (Found on wichita.edu/studyabroad; click on “Apply Now”.)
- Apply for Scholarships – Go to study abroad website and click on the section menu at the top. Then click on “scholarships” for more information.
- Apply for a Passport – If you don’t already have a passport, you can apply for a passport at the WSU Post Office in Morrison Hall. If you have an expired passport, you will need to renew it. For more information visit wichita.edu/postoffice.
- Attend Pre-Departure Meetings – Complete any pre-departure requirements and attend mandatory pre-departure meetings.
- Apply to Your Specific Program – Complete the application for your specific study abroad program.
