Overview
Why did you choose WSU?
I've been involved with WSU since I was little! For starters, I won robotics competitions
here, I would attend basketball games, and every year I would play in the WSU honor
band. When it came to deciding what college I would attend, it truly came easy to
me. I knew the campus and it was an added bonus that it was close to home and affordable.
Why did you want to be a Transition Mentor?
In high school, I was a part of a group called Link Crew, and I really wanted to find
something similar in college. I remember my first orientation and when I saw those
TM's, I knew I wanted to be a part of the experience they provided. I truly love helping
people find a comfortable place they can find themselves belonging in and it's a huge
bonus when I can have a fun time doing it.
What's one thing all Shockers should know?
I think all shockers should know that their classes don't have to be their whole life!
It's good and healthy to find other involvements to devote your time to. You should
not be studying all day every day! Join a club, form a friend group, go do things
together, develop a skill/hobby, treat yourself to experiences that can make the class
side of college life not that bad!
Favorite Shocker Experience:
Since I don't have much time as a shocker under my belt yet, I can't say I have an
exact favorite shocker experience. I do always enjoy seeing familiar faces on campus!
You'll never know who you'll run into during the day and sometimes it can really brighten
things up when you see a friend you've made from an extracurricular or class.
One thing on your bucket list:
I want to learn to do a pull-up this year! Last year, I got into working out and started
getting into calisthenics, so a pull-up is just one of the many skills I am hoping
of obtaining!
