Professional Development: Supervisor Training Series

Professional Development: Supervisor Training Series (PDS) is a collaboration between the Kansas Small Business Development Center, the Public Policy & Management Center, and the Community Engagement Institute to deliver high-quality, relevant training for entry-to-mid-level supervisors.

Open to professionals in any industry (public, private, and nonprofit) the series offers practical, interactive sessions focused on core leadership topics such as transformational leadership, feedback and coaching, conflict resolution, and collaboration. Each course provides actionable strategies that attendees can apply immediately in their workplace, helping to instill the confidence of each attendee in their new or expanded role as well as elevate the level of talent and return on investment within the organization they represent.

Sessions are hosted throughout the year at Wichita Public Library locations, allowing participants to select the courses and dates that best fit their schedule. Participants may attend single sessions or complete the full series for a more comprehensive leadership experience.

Exploring My Role: Am I a Supervisor?

A leader isn’t defined solely by title. It’s about influence, initiative, and the ability to help others succeed. Whether you supervise a team, manage projects, or simply want to grow your leadership capacity, these sessions are for you.

Supervisors exist at every level. Within local governments, nonprofits, education, and private industry. If you’re responsible for guiding others, fostering collaboration, or driving results, you are already a leader. The PPMC’s Professional Development Series is here to help you strengthen those skills and lead with confidence in your organization and community.
