Fraternity and Sorority Life
Panhellenic Council
The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) is the umbrella organization for 26 (inter)national women's sororities throughout
the United States and Canada. Founded in 1902, the NPC is the oldest and largest
women's membership organization, representing more than 4 million women at over 650
college/university campuses and 4,600 local alumnae chapters in the United States
and Canada. Each year, NPC sororities donate more than $5 million to philanthropic
and charitable causes, donate over $2 million worth of scholarships to women, and
volunteer over 500,000 hours of service to their communities.
The Panhellenic Council is the governing body and policy-making organization of the
National Panhellenic Conference Sororities. The purpose of the Panhellenic Council
is to coordinate the efforts of the individual sororities in matters of philanthropy,
scholarship, leadership and sisterhood. We are home to five out of the 26 sororities
within the NPC: Alpha Phi, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma.
