Corey Martin is a Yale-trained family physician driven to change the delivery of healthcare and improve the mental and physical health of our communities.  He is a founder of the Bounce Back Project, practicing private group physician, former Bush Fellow, Chief Medical Officer, and lead physician in response to clinician burnout. Negotiating your Worth | 1:30 pm
This session is designed for students to experienced Advanced Practice Providers trying to navigate the current workforce environment. Common needs range from securing a first job, negotiating job offers, and evaluating benefits and consequences around changing jobs. Each require informed reflection, significant preparation, and self-advocacy. This session will provide information on current trends in the APP landscape nationwide and in Kansas, how to assess and negotiate one’s wants/needs, how to leverage fiscal worth, and guidance on how to address key clauses of concern in nearly all healthcare provider contracts. The healthcare workforce is faced with a multitude of challenges including appalling job offers, uncompensated work expectations, low staffing, increasing job dissatisfaction, and absence of voice or value in practice settings. Left unaddressed these issues are key contributors to the high attrition rate associated with early to mid-career departure of all APPs.

Obesity is a chronic, relapsing, and multifactorial disease that significantly impacts patient health and healthcare systems. Despite its prevalence, obesity remains underdiagnosed and undertreated in many settings. This session aims to empower APRNs and PAs to expand their role in obesity medicine, providing them with the knowledge and confidence to address this complex condition proactively. By strengthening their clinical skillset, participants will be better prepared to impact patient outcomes and contribute meaningfully to reversing the obesity epidemic. Attendees will leave with tools that can be immediately applied in practice, from initiating effective conversations about weight to implementing sustainable care models that reduce complications and improve quality of life for patients.
