NASA student research and product development experiences with a focus on extended reality (XR) technology and interdisciplinary teams facilitated by the College of Innovation and Design in the Open XR Lab at Wichita State University.
Past challenge years have asked student teams to design tools and devices to help with current NASA needs in lunar operations, microgravity operations, and search and rescue missions. Student product solutions get tested in the Neutral Buoyancy Lab (NBL) at NASA’s Johnson Space Center to simulate microgravity environments.
Special thanks to the Kansas Space Grant Consortium for their support and guidance. See other opportunities for student and faculty internships, scholarships, and fellowships.
