The F1RST STEPS program is designed to help first-generation college students succeed.
First-generation college students are individuals whose parents did not graduate from
a four-year university.
Take the first step to ensure your success by joining us the Sunday before classes
start. We will help you prepare for the first week of classes by sharing tips and
resources on how to become a successful Shocker, provide a personalized tour of campus
by showing you where your classes are and critical campus resources, meet with university
staff and peers to create connections and a sense of belonging and much more!
Almost half of our student population at Wichita State University identifies as first-generation.
