Summer Intern FAQ
If you are visiting this site for the first time, you must first register yourself as a user. Please click on the "Register Here" link underneath the login options near the bottom of that page to complete this step. Once completed with a username (email address) and password, you will be able to login and begin the application.
If you have resided on campus at WSU before and/or have already registered yourself as a resident user, please, navigate to the myWSU login page to access the portal. Using the WSU ID that was previously assigned to you, follow the instruction provided on the Password Management Resources page to reset your password. Once logged in, locate the “Campus Housing” link under the “Student Tools” section on the homepage. Click on it to enter the Housing Portal.
Move-in for interns begins May 22nd and move-out is August 1st. We cannot extend these dates.
Yes, you can move in whenever you're ready, but you will be charged the full term rate regardless of actual move-in date (we will not prorate).
In the application, you are required to provide proof of your internship. This can be an offer letter or confirmation of acceptance email from the company you’re interning with, or a signed contract with start dates. These can be in .jpeg or .pdf form. You will then upload that proof of internship in your Intern Housing application.
We cannot offer extensions beyond August 1st due to our preparation for the Academic Year. For accommodations nearby, we recommend reaching out to the Hyatt Place at Wichita State University. Go to myWSU and log-in using your WSU ID and password. Select Campus Housing from the Student Tools box in the center of the screen. On the Home Tab, select 'Cancel My Application' on the left side of the screen and make sure to select the correct term you wish to cancel. Fill out the form as prompted. For more information on canceling your contract, please read the Contract Cancellation webpage.
Parking is free during the summer! Visit our Interactive Parking Map to see which lots are free for students/interns.
Interns will be housed in The Suites. Every "suite" is equipped with full size beds, double sinks, a kitchenette (microwave, full size fridge, and sink) and in-unit laundry. Take a virtual tour here.
You can indicate your room preference in the Intern Housing application. All room types are limited and assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
If you know a specific individual you would like to live with, there will be space in the application to share their information. If you do not see this while applying, you may email SummerLodging@wichita.edu with your requested roommate’s first and last name and email address after completing the application. We will do our best to accommodate the request.
Information regarding room assignments and move-in details will be shared in early May. Make sure to check the email you used to submit your application.
