The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has announced the newest members of its 25 Under 25 class, an annual recognition program honoring exceptional Barton School students who are making a difference through academic excellence, leadership and community involvement.
“When the 25 Under 25 initiative was developed, our goal was simple: to spotlight the talent, drive and leadership already thriving within the Barton School,” said Cassandra Stevens, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Barton School of Business. “I saw an opportunity, so the program is designed to elevate students’ stories so industry partners, the campus community and future Shockers can see the caliber of innovators being prepared here. Our students accomplish extraordinary things, often before they graduate, and 25 Under 25 helps shine a well-deserved light on their achievements.”
The 25 Under 25 initiative highlights students who embody the Barton School ethos by combining classroom success with real-world impact across campus and beyond. These remarkable students will receive exclusive mentorship opportunities through the Barton School and were recognized at an event on November 11, 2025.
“Each year, our 25 Under 25 students remind us what it means to be innovators, leaders and changemakers,” said Dr. Larisa Genin, dean of the Barton School. “Their drive and accomplishments represent the very best of our college and the future of business leadership.”
Over 150 students applied for this prestigious recognition. To qualify, applicants needed to be fully admitted undergraduate students under the age of 25. The '25 Under 25' honorees were chosen for their exceptional achievements across at least two areas, including academics, leadership, entrepreneurship, professional development, community involvement, and contributions to the community. The honorees represent a wide range of Barton School majors and programs, united by their commitment to excellence, innovation and service.
The Barton School launched the 25 Under 25 recognition in 2024 to showcase students who balance academic achievement with leadership in campus organizations, volunteer work, internships and entrepreneurial pursuits. The program is coordinated by the Barton School Dean’s Office and the Office of Career and Professional Development.
